In TERA, as a fresh level 60, gearing up can be intimidating. The desire is to be able to partake in all of the end-game content, but the gear prohibits that. There is a somewhat set path in which you need to take to get properly geared up, and it can be stressful. Luckily, I’m here now to help you get it all locked down. There is no real guesswork here; just follow the path and you’ll be ready to take part in all of the game’s content in no time!

The Goal

The end result we are going for right now is to get to the Tier 15 set called “Devastator.” This is the best set as to go for, of the writing of this guide, and will be a great predecessor to the future sets that are added in the game. This will also allow you to take part in all of the game’s content without any problems, and will result in a high enough iLvl to not need to worry about being kicked from groups solely based on gear.

Patron’s Set

When you hit 60, the first goal is going to be getting the Patron’s set. This is obtained by running Balder’s Temple. This is basically the stepping stone to getting better gear. It’s pretty easy to get the set so it’s considered as being “newbie friendly.” Do note that this dungeon requires a gear level of 138, but you should be there already once you hit 60. If not, pick up a couple pieces from the market and enchant them.

Devastator’s Set

The final step is to obtain the Devastator’s set. This is found in Rift’s Edge Hard Mode. The great thing about this is that if you played through the normal one and learned the mechanics, the hard mode is the same way. This makes it fast and easy to understand what’s going on, and helps make you much more effective when in groups. This does work the same way as with normal mode, though, in that you pretty much just have to run it until you get all the pieces of gear you need.
