The team-based multiplayer shooter game Overwatch has impressed us deeply since it came out at BlizzCon 2014. As we are all expecting what will Overwatch present in new year, there comes a heavy news - Blizzard could be force to rename Overwatch following the emergence of an earlier patent bearing the same name.

It seems that Blizzard often have a bad luck when they're facing trademark issue. Blizzard had a dispute with Valve over the Dota trademark in 2012 and they lost and this time is Overwatch. According to NeoGAF forum, a user of it found that the two trademark applications that the company filed back in April 2014 have just been suspended, due to a trademark on the same name filed some time prior to Blizzard's.

Innovis Labs Inc.’s trademark filing for Overwatch supersedes Blizzard’s applications, which might mean that the company could be forced to rename its highly anticipated upcoming Overwatch.
