Heroes of the Storm has come a long way since the beginning of the technical alpha several months ago. This week, the closed beta for the highly anticipated MOBA begins and with it come several new features including ranked competitive game play and other game modes that will be of key interest to testers.

*Hero League will require players to be level 30 and to have at least ten heroes owned. This ensures that players are ready for the challenge that competitive ranked play brings

*Matchmaking that will pit equal sized teams against one another

*Draft mode where opposing teams take turns selecting heroes

*Game abandonment penalties

*Custom games where players get to select the parameters
