Blizzard's Jeff Kaplan has taken to the Overwatch forums to let fans know that the game's closed beta will be making its return in February. During the last month, devs have been working to address player feedback and to adjust the balance of the game. Kaplan further indicates that the team had hoped to bring the beta back in mid-January, but that simply isn't going to happen.

By way of explaining the delay, Kaplan has announced that a new game mode will be included when the beta reignites in February, though Blizzard is not yet ready to talk about it.

Taking the extra time to implement the game mode and to give Overwatch a new pass for polish will bring a better beta to players that will feature new maps and an overhauled progression and reward system.
