1月26日，激战将接收2016年的第一个大更新，随着中国农历新年的即将到来，游戏中会开展一次活动来庆祝新年。本次活动将持续2周，2月9日推出新活动。

Just in the beginning of 2016, ArenaNet, the team behind Guild Wars 2 shared their plans for the game this year. According to the dev, 2016 will be a turning point of the type of development, and they will be focusing on the parts of Guild Wars 2 that have been most successful and giving their full attention to those areas by adding depth to them.

On Jan.26th, Guild Wars will receive its first big update in 2016. As Chinese New Year is coming soon, the game will release a celebration event for this festival. The event will last for 2 weeks till the new event launched on Feb. 9th.

Meanwhile, the team also introduced a new and improved shatterer today. The Shatterer is one of Guild Wars 2's most iconic fights, and this Shatterer now has a defiance bar to prevent the crystals from taking damage.
